Wylfa Gains Top Environmental Award
Wylfa has been awarded a Five Star Environmental Rating after receiving a fantastic 94.5% score from the British Safety Council under their Five Star Environmental Award Scheme - at the time of the audit - the highest score attained by any UK organisation so far this year.

Wylfa meets its first goal in achieving continued generation
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) today announced that Wylfa Power Station, on Anglesey, North Wales, has been granted approval to continue generating electricity for at least another nine months past its planned closure date of March 2010 – until at least December 2010.

Do Something Funny for Money
Wylfa Site has been raising money for Comic Relief. Everypne donned a red item of clothing and a red nose on Friday 13th. A cake sale was held, along with an auction to raise money. £1186 had been raised as of Monday 16th, but donations continue to come in.

Greg Wins Leadership Award
Greg Evans, Site Director of Magnox North’s Wylfa Site and Maentwrog Hydro Station has been presented with the award for the ‘Leadership in Business with more than 250 employees award’ at the Leading Wales Award, which was held in Cardiff on the 26th February.

Wylfa Wins Platinum!
Magnox North Wylfa Site have become the first company ever to have won the Welsh Assembly Government’s Corporate Health Standard Platinum Award, which is awarded to exemplar gold award holders who demonstrate a voluntary commitment outside of their normal business activities, that contributes to sustainable development.
